Villa Parens Chardonnay
Chardonnay (Shar-dun-nay)
Chardonnay is one of the most widely grown white grape variety and one of the most famous grape varieties in the world. It is incredibly versatile ranging from full bodied oak aged examples in warmer climates to leaner fruit driven ones in cooler climates. This particular wine sees no oak aging and is made in the latter style in the cool northern region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Chardonnay is believed to have originated in the French town of Chardonnay in the 1500s.
This Chardonnay pairs particularly well with oysters, seafood, sushi, fish, chicken, creamy dishes, vegetable risotto, salads with vinaigrettes, brie, ricotta, and swiss cheese.
The villa was built in 1860, and has a fascinating history from being German headquartersduring World War II to the modern winery owned by the Puiatti family. In Latin the word parens means ‘ancestors’; their wine is dedicated to those who accompany us and also when they are not with us. Villa Parens is creating new limited, refine and exclusive wines designed with simplicity and elegance to fascinate. “For the future of tradition.”
