Moscato (Muss-kot-toe), Malvasia (Mal-vah-see-ah)
This sweet sparkling wine is dedicated to one of the winery’s founders, Mrs. Marcella Goretti. Her passion is cooking and has even created a cook book that is available in several languages. At the winery she assists in preparing food for guests and also runs the winery’s cooking classes. This wine is similar in taste profile to Moscato d’Asti, but is made in a slightly different process and therefore has more carbonation and a true sparkling wine feel compared to Moscato d’Asti that is a semi-sparkling wine.
Pair this wine with spicy food dishes, desserts – in particular sweet pastries with fruit preserves, white chocolate, and caramel, blue cheese, gorgonzola. It is also perfect for all occasions as a toast.
The Goretti winery is currently operated by its 3rd generation. The estate is located in the hilly area outside of Perugia, Umbria and features a 14th century tower that has become the emblem of Goretti. Their belief is that the quality of the wines is never the result of improvisation, but of a deep knowledge of land, climate, and production processes.
