Ciao! Buon giorno! If you follow us on social media platforms then you know that we just attended the wine fair called Vinitaly. I wanted to take an opportunity to share what all goes into this incredible event. It is much more than drinking wine all day! 😉

What is Vinitaly?

Vinitaly is the largest wine exhibition in the world and is held every April in Verona. Verona is a city rich in history, architecture, and culture in northern Italy. It is a four-day extravaganza that provides an excellent platform for wine producers, distributors, and buyers to network, exchange ideas, and learn about the latest trends in the wine industry. Each year we schedule meetings with producers we already work with and new ones. Fun fact: there were over 4,600 wineries in attendance this past year.

The exhibition takes place at the Fiera Verona, an event center that is temporarily transformed into a wine wonderland. Here, thousands of wineries can showcase their portfolio of wines. While the opportunity to taste a wide range of wines is one of the main highlights, the tasting experience is not just about savoring the flavors of the wines but also about understanding the history, culture, and traditions that make Italian wines unique. Vinitaly provides an unparalleled opportunity to meet and connect with winemakers, wine producers, and wine enthusiasts from all over the world.

More than just tasting wines

Vinitaly is a melting pot of cultures, ideas, and stories, where you can learn about the passion and dedication that goes into producing world-class Italian wines. This is evident by the variety of educational and cultural events such as seminars, workshops, and masterclasses the fair hosts. These experiences help provide a deeper knowledge about Italian wines, grape varieties, and winemaking techniques. There are also cultural events that showcase the rich heritage of Italian wines, such as art exhibitions and performances, which add an extra layer to the overall experience. It also hosts a wine academy, Vinitaly International Academy, who aims to be the most prestigious for Italian wine education. Wine professionals and enthusiasts who complete and pass the final course are awarded the titles Italian Wine Ambassador and Italian Wine Expert.

Each year that we attend we continue to build great partnerships and lifelong friendships! Salute!
